FAQ

Player Interactions

  • Overview
    Interaction between players is the heart of the Total Domination gameplay experience. This covers all the different ways you can influence and engage the other players.

    There are several ways you can perform actions with other players.

    You can easily interact with your fellow Commanders from the Map interface:
    Go to Map and position your mouse over other player's Sector.

    You can choose an action (Trade, Invade, Raid, etc.) from their Sector's pop-up menu.

    You can also interact by visiting their Sector:
    Go to other player's Sector. Click 'Action' on the right menu and choose the action you want to perform.

    Alternatively you can do actions from the Command Center.

    At the Command Center, Embassy and Trade Gateway in your Sector you can perform military actions, conduct diplomacy and trade.
  • Player Designations
    There are several different player designations for other Commanders you will encounter in the game. Their designation may depend on your previous interactions, their level, or their game history. You can view a Commander's designation by opening the "Contacts" tab at your Command Center, or by viewing their Sector information from the Map.

    1. Novices are players below level 9 who have recently started playing Total Domination: Nuclear Strategy, and are under temporary Novice protection. They are marked by a white flag.

    2. Enemies are those Commanders who have attacked your Sector or those whose Sectors have been attacked by you. They are marked in red.

    3. Allies (marked in green). To become Allies with other players, send an "Alliance Offer" for them to consider. If they accept, you become Allies. Your allied status comes with certain benefits - Reinforcements and Caravans travel faster between allied Sectors.

    4. Commanders that are members of a Clan have also their Clan Logo next to the profile picture.
  • Friends Panel
    Your Friends Panel is an important interface for interacting with other Commanders. You will see all your social network Friends who are currently playing Total Domination: Nuclear Strategy. To add someone to the Friends Panel you must send them a friend request from within your social network. This person will be added to the Friends Panel when they confirm your friend request.

    Players displayed on your Friends Panel aren't necessarily your Allies. The Friends Panel displays Neutral Commanders, Enemies, and Allies - anyone currently on connected to you in the game through your social network. The panel allows you to perform the following actions:
    - visit other Commanders' Sectors;
    -find a Commander's Sector on the Wastelands Map;
    - send Messages;
    - send Reinforcements;
    - send Modules;
    - send Resources;
    - open a Commander's social network page;
    - open their Game Profile;
    - view their Clan's Info;
    - Create a Cyborg;

    Use your Friends Panel to Raid, Invade or Recon your Enemies' Sectors.
  • Visiting other Sectors
    Interaction between Commanders will be the key feature of your gameplay experience. One way to interact with other Commanders is by visiting their Sector. Go to another Commander's Sector, click "Actions" on the right menu and choose the action (Raid, Recon, Invade, Become Allies, Send Reinforcements, Send Modules, or Send Resources) you want to perform. As you make more contacts (friends or enemies) you'll find that keeping track of them all will be easier from the Command building interfaces than by scrolling on the map. You can perform military actions, conduct diplomacy, and engage in trade from the Command Center, Embassy and Trade Gateway, respectively.

    To go home, click "Home" from the Map or Sector menu, or click twice on your Sector.
  • Raiding
    Raiding other player's Sectors is definitely the most satisfying way to earn extra Resources in the game. To conduct a Raid, choose the number and type of Troops you want to send. If your Raid is successful, you will seize a certain number of Resources.

    The amount of Resources seized depends on the carrying capacity of the Troops that survived the Raid. After the Raid you will receive a report from your Combat Advisor detailing the number of casualties and the amount of Resources your Troops return to your Sector.

    You start the game with 10 possible Raid attempts that may recover Resources. These Raid attempts are recharged at the rate of 1 new Raid every 2.5 hours. Each Raid attempt is counted at the time your Units depart your Sector. This means that if you have used all 10 of your available Raids, if you dispatch another Raid, your Units may engage and destroy enemies' Units, but will NOT recover any Resources. You can view the current number of Raids available at the Command Center ("Contacts" tab) or on the Map by positioning your mouse on other player's Sector.

    5% of captured Resources will be subtracted as the cost of the Raid.

    A Raid can be performed in 3 ways:

    From the Map:
    1. Click «Map» in your Sector.
    2. Hover the mouse over the Sector you want to raid.
    3. Choose «Raid» on the Sector menu.

    From inside the enemy's Sector:

    2. Open «Send» tab.
    3. Choose «Raid» in the action list.
    4. Click «Raid».

    Be advised! Your battle Report after each Raid displays ONLY the enemy Units you defeated in battle. For full reports detailing the number and type of Units present in other Sectors, you'll need to carry out successful Recon Missions.
  • Invasions
    To invade other player's Sector, choose the number and type of Troops you want to send. If you succeed, your Troops will occupy the enemy Sector and you will move up in Invasion Rankings. Invaded Sectors can only be liberated if the occupied player produces enough Offensive units (or receives enough Reinforcements) to overcome the occupying garrison. If your Sector has been invaded, you can still produce units to defeat the invader or ask your Friends to send you Reinforcements. Once colonized, a percentage of your Titanium or Uranium production will be harvested by the Invading Commander until your Sector is liberated.
    Invasions can be performed in 3 ways:

    From the Map:
    1. Click "Map" in your Sector.
    2. Place the mouse cursor over the Sector you want to invade.
    3. Choose "Invade" on the Sector menu.

    From within the options menu while visiting an enemy Sector:
    1. Visit the Sector of the player you want to invade.
    2. Click "Invade" on the "Actions" menu.

    From the Command Center:
    1. Go to the Command Center.
    2. Find the Sector in "Contacts".
    3. Open the "Send" tab.
    4. Choose "Invade" from the action list.

    Invading other Sectors allows you to prove your dominance over your rivals, place in the Invasion and Tribute Rankings, and harvest a percentage of your enemy's Resource production. The Top 10 Players in the Weekly Invasion and Tribute Rankings may also earn Crystals for holding their positions.

    To select a different occupied Sector to colonize, remove one from your Colonies list and add the desired Sector from your "Colonies" tab.
  • Recon
    Research Antigravitation technology and the build Air Field to perform Recon missions. Once you've done that, purchase several Recon Drones.

    Send Recon Drones to the other player's Sector to gather intelligence. Your Combat Advisor will inform you on your recon mission's outcome and collected information. Recon missions allow you to get full information about the number and type of Troops in other Sectors and about the amount of Resources you can raid from that Sector. Your Recon Drones can be defeated by reconned Sector's Drones while performing the mission.

    Recon missions can be performed in 3 ways:

    1. Go to the Command Center.
    2. Open the «Send» tab.
    3. Choose «Send Reinforcements» from the action list.
    4. Click «Reinforcements».

    If you send Reinforcements, you do so at your own expense. This means that if you send Reinforcements to another Sector, you still have to spend Credits to support the Troops you've sent.
  • Becoming Allies
    To become Allies with other players, you make a 'Become Allies' offer for other players to accept.
